    Here is a brief list of the private Oceanfront beach houses offered as vacation rentals at Puako Bay, South Kohala, Hawaii.

    Each place has its own special charm, offering privacy and perhaps a new experience, one we hope you will always treasure as a special memory.

    KOLEA COTTAGE - Oceanfront:
    Two bedrooms, two baths, 2 story house on one acre of tended grounds - Wailea Bay. $2800.00/WEEK.

    Beautiful white sand beach, the kind movies are made on! It is a special experience for the beachcomber and snorkeler. The yard is grassy and shady; the real living is done from the second floor deck and living room where you overlook the flowers, low hedge, and onto the beach and the bay. The fish are bigger here, the water bluer, the sky brighter, the sand whiter. It is just a spectacular spot, accessed only by a few. (All of Hawaii's beaches are public, but the public access to this one is difficult; there is rarely another soul on the beach.) more images

    Oceanfront through a tropical garden setting. $2800.00/WEEK.

    It feels "Hawaiian", yet modern has hardwood floors, many windows, tasteful but simple decor, complete kitchen, all new appliances. There is nothing not to like! Each bedroom has an adjoining bathroom and the bedrooms are separated by the central core of the house giving each bedroom maximum privacy.
    It fronts the lovely white sand beach at Wailea Bay via a short walkway.

    Excellent snorkeling out your front door. Natural small tidal swimming pool. Lovely, well maintained grassy yard. Complete kitchen, tiled counters, new stove, dishwasher and fridge. Friendly eating areas indoors or on sheltered deck. House just "lives well" the visitors say. Master bedroom and bath are separate from adjacent house but attached by generous deck. New  firm and plush king bed, queen and 2 singles in other bedrooms.

    WAIPUNA LEI -  #82 PUAKO BEACH DRIVE - Oceanfront: $2400/WEEK.
    Two bedrooms, one and one-half baths PLUS outside shower on 1/3 acre -
    Best snorkeling EVER! say our guests. Oceanfront cottage on a sandy beach with coconut trees.

    New Couch and picnic table on covered porch, overlook beach and ocean, turtles and whales, sunsets, up the Kohala Coast and over to Maui.

    Sandy bottom tidal pools lead to open ocean swimming and snorkeling.

    Each property at Puako has its own unique features but his one also has a fresh water pond so that entry from the street and parking area is over a wooden foot-bridge.

    It has a large deck looking out through the palms, over the white sand beach to the ocean and tidal pools. The cottage itself is small, perhaps 900sq.ft It serves a couple or small family (4 persons maximum occupancy) or very compatible group best, as there is little privacy within the house, one room from another. It has a complete kitchen (no dishwasher), microwave, television, VCR, radio, CD player, washer, dryer, new, firm and plush king bed + 2 queens, couches, dining table, plus large picnic table! more images

    PUAKO BEACH APARTMENTS - Apt 209: $1050/WEEK.
    Condo, Second Floor, Three Bedrooms, 2 baths.

    Standing barefoot on the cool lanai, green palms and colorful hibiscus at your feet, there is little not to like. Facing the blue ocean and Kohala Mountains trade winds tickle your face.

    You can sit in the privacy of your living room or bedroom and have this same view or you might choose to swim in the pool or the ocean. Right across the rural road is your beach access only footsteps to the white sandy beach and/or into the ocean. You will like the very basic but clean apartment featuring good beds and quality furniture. The no-frills kitchen works easily, but wonderful restaurants abound in the area.

    The manager is accessible if you need anything, but the entire area is fairly trouble free due to simplicity and quiet Hawaiian living.

    Year Round good weather is Hawaii's calling card, no matter where you are from and what things you like to do. Its always more colorful under sunshine and blue skies!
